To date, over 10,000 family members and their loved ones have enjoyed time away through the Cottage Dreams program but with over 75,000 new cancer cases being diagnosed in Ontario last year and a 67% increase in the number of placement requests this year alone, we need to raise the funds to continue offering families this much needed time together.
As Survivorship is not on the government’s agenda yet, we have not been able to secure any government commitments. We rely on private and corporate donations to coordinate each cottage donation and the families we match them with.
All funds raised are used for the coordination of each placement. This includes program costs such as insurance, rent, telephones and other office expenses, program awareness, the review and coordination of every visitor application, the hand-matching of each applicant with the perfect cottage.
