Special words from the 2018 cottage visitors:

  • “THANK YOU, Thank you, Thank you. We had a wonderful week away with Cottage Dreams.  While the weather was not perfect, it did require us to “stop” and just relax … a perfect recipe for rejuvenation.  We can’t thank Cottage Dreams enough for organizing this gift.  And an even bigger thank you to the cottage owner for donating the cottage.  It was perfect.”
  • “Thank you.  We have returned home after an amazing cottage dream.  Our hosts Mary, John, Ann & Larry were so great.  The cottage was beautiful and they looked after us well. They left us alone to enjoy the cottage too.  The story of their cottage and the fact that is is solely for the use of Cottage Dreams, made it feel even more special. What a gift they have given to all.  We relaxed, reflected on the last 18 months and now feel much better prepared to move forward with our new normal lives. Thank you,  to you and your team for all the hard work that goes into pairing survivors with owners.  We could not have dreamed of anything better. We will never forget this experience and will certainly pass the word on, as most people don’t know of your existence.  Thanks again.  You are all helping people in this world. Its a great thing.”

  • “Thank you for the incredible loan of a cottage this past week.  We spent our time relaxing at this beautiful place, and would like to express our deepest appreciation to the cottage owners and the Cottage Dreams program.  How wonderful to sit by the lake and enjoy the peace of nature.  Thank you so much for this opportunity!”

  • “As we spend our last evening at the Cottage, I just wanted to say thank you for giving me and my family/friends this wonderful opportunity. We have had an amazing time staying at this cozy and welcoming cottage. Along with great food, drinks, water sports, swimming in the beautiful Lake, coffee on the docks in the morning and just pure rest and relaxation, it was just what the doctor ordered and the best prescription for my healing journey. Thank you so much, with appreciation.”

  • “I can’t begin to thank you and Cottage Dreams for creating the opportunity for the boys and I to have such a wonderful and relaxing week at the cottage.  The memories that we made swimming, boating and playing ping pong at the cottage will be cherished forever. I am truly humbled that there are so many kind and generous people who open their homes (cottages) and their hearts to strangers.  In addition to the wonderful memories and rejuvenation, I will forever be grateful for the lesson this has taught the boys in compassion.  Words cannot express my deepest thanks and gratitude,”
  • “Thanks very much for a wonderful holiday at Cottage. It was amazing. We totally enjoyed the Cottage Lifestyle and feel so fortunate to have been involved in The Cottage Dreams. The Owners are so compassionate and generous to let us stay there for a week.  Thanks so much for all that you have done for us.”
  • “I wanted to give you a huge thank you for all you do.  What an amazing organization to allow people like me to have a week away in the beautiful cottage country. We met the cottage owner on the Friday when we arrived and he as very kind and gave us a quick tour of the grounds and the cottage.  It was spectacular; nice clean lake with kayaks and canoes; fishing boat and a lovely dock. It was more than I ever dreamed of.  I want to express my profound gratitude and will never forget this special time you have created for me and my family.  With heartfelt gratitude,”
  • “We are back from our wonderful cottage vacation.   I would like to thank you, your team and the cottage owner for making it happened.  It has been 6 years since we’ve had a vacation.  The cottage pictures don’t do the cottage justice.  It is much nicer.  We enjoyed talks on the dock over the calming waters, had visits from the blue jays and chipmunks on the deck, marshmallows over the fire my son built (memories of childhood and seeing my son do that was great), to seeing my husband get out on a floatie and in a canoe with our son was fun (he doesn’t like the water, nor swims), looking up at night at the stars, even the pouring rain allowed us to watch a couple of movies I haven’t seen, and we toured through Algonquin which I don’t remember ever seeing but I can say I did drive through it….a sleep (by that time I was sooo tired as it was near the end of the week..lol).  Not  exciting for most but just what the doctored ordered for me.  Thank you again.”
